Pubs and Restaurants

When you're in Adelaide and you're feeling social, need food, or just wanna get wasted, this is a list of pretty cool places we've been.

Hungry Jacks

"Yo Angry! Yo mine!"
Ok so this is the crappiest fast food joint in town, but it's still better than most places in the states. Hungry Jacks is the Australian equivalent of Burger King, but is open 24/7. It is home to the scenester kids of Adelaide.

The Exeter
Where people from work go to drink even more after Friday night drinks. It has a very cool old vibe and beers are relatively cheap. It's also in the middle of Rundle and has regular shows.

The Austral
It's not a hotel. It's a bar. We usually head there after getting sick of The Exiter since it's only a block away. Sometimes there's a band playing, and they have a wood fire burning. Rad!

Zambrero
An awesome burrito place on Rundle and Frome that is run by an American dude named Chris. It's open until 3-4am on weekends. Go there!

San Giorgio
Italian place across the street from Zambrero that's open just as late. Their pizzas are massive and pretty much everything is really good.

Funk

A bunch of cafes all around town that have the regular generic cafe food.

Cibos
The Australian Starbucks. Don't go there. Way too expensive!

MYO
"Make Your Own"
I finally started going there with some coworkers and it's a pretty cool place. All of Adelaide sells take-away in the same plastic containers, so MYO lets you choose what to fill your container with, and charges the same price no matter what.

Cafe Como
It's near work and they have $4 hotdogs. Win!

Long's Kitchen
Generic Chinese food but it's insanely fast and pretty tasty. The only problem is that there's a giant Chinese dragon on the window staring at you. O_O

The Chocolate Bean
Little artsy hole in the wall cafe down a side street off Rundle. Their hot chocolate is the bomb!

Electric Light Hotel
Still not a hotel, but cool club/bar/lounge across the street from us on Grenfell. We had our RSP Solstice Party there.

Zenhouse
Veggie food fried to perfection!

Joy Discovery
Another veggie place strategically places right next door to Zenhouse. This one is way more healthy and run by a spiritual leader type person.

Burp
Awesome burrito place with a style focused around luchadors. They have a hot sauce behind a glass case that you have to sign a waiver to use.

Sangria
A bar on Gouger and Morphett on the edge of Chinatown. It has a limited occupancy so there is usually a line outside waiting for people to leave. Cool place though, tons of people go there after work.

Lotus Lounge
Right around the corner is an awesome bar/lounge with an outdoor patio area. This is for when we get tired of Sangria. They're open ridiculously late.

The Griffins

Restaurant/bar on Grenfell near Pultney. Tuesday night is $10 steak night. Wednesday is $11 schnitzels. Can't go wrong!

Coopers Ale House

Classy pub on Carrington in the middle of town. They have THE LARGEST schnitzels I have ever seen. Literally 1.5ft of chicken parmi. Pair that with an ice cold Coopers and you're officially South Australian.

Crown and Anchor Hotel
A bar on Grenfell with shows and sketchy looking people outside. I've only been once but apparently it's got a cool upstairs area.

Munooshi

Right around the corner from us on East Terrace is this tiny Middle-Eastern food place named after the bread (I think) used to make their infamous pizza/pie/sandwich things. It's run by a dude named Caled and his wife who are really nice.

Pix will come!
